Happy New Month Lovelies!

The year is wrapping up in just a matter of weeks and days now, and a lot of people are discouraged to keep staying strong and not let go their dreams. If you fall in that category, this picture below is my advice to you.

Sometimes, the first step to staying strong and not give up is to just show up. It doesn’t matter what you’ve been through or what you’re currently going through… No matter how you feel, get up, dress up, show up and never give up!

We all desire success. We all desire to end 2016 better than we stepped into it. We all desire to have more money, more influence… more of everything good. And the first step to achieving that is to SHOW UP!

This begs the question, “what does it mean to Show Up?”

In simple terms, to show up means to make an appearance (datzol!)

Yeah, sometimes you may not feel like it, either because of previous failed attempts or because you don’t feel bold or courageous enough to show up. But here’s my suggestion honey – Just Show Up, Make An Appearance.

80% of success is showing up – Woody Allen

Sometime ago, we were having some discussion in TWTW whatsapp group, about not being able to wake up for midnight prayers and Frances made a statement that struck and stuck to my head. She said, “Sometimes, all you need do is show up for prayers at your scheduled time and the Spirit will take it from there.” And it’s true. Wakeup, leave your bed or that comfort spot and just show up. The Spirit will take it from there.

You can also decide to show up for any and every area of your life that matters to you – spiritual, physical, career, mental, social, etc.

In addition to that, don’t just go through the motions of making an appearance; showing up is just a start, an essential start. Follow your decision to show up closely with Jim Elliot’s advice: “Wherever you are, be all there”

This month and for the rest of the year, whatever it may be, choose to Show Up. Show up for your lectures, exams, church, marriage, job, children, friends, parents, etc.

Take it a step further by being actively involved. Collaborate with your creator to build the life of your dreams… start from creating the November you desire.

Truth is, most times, what we are scared of is also scared of us or have been removed without us realizing it. A good example is in Mark 16: 1 – 4

“When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus’ body.  Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb and they asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?”

But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away. “(NIV; emphasis mine)

What are you so scared of? It has been removed but you will never know if you don’t SHOW UP to confront it.

It’s a brand new month, ditch your fears/doubts and Just Show Up! Let Isaiah 41:10 encourage you as it always does for me.

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” – Isaiah 41:10 (NIV)

Have the best of November!

Between, I’m not talking about places you know you shouldn’t show up at… you know naa.

Wishing y’all a super e-boosted and recession-resistant Month and rest of year.

Cheers!
